Community grants
Celebrate Tasmania Day Grant Program now open!
The 2010 Celebrate Tasmania Day Grants Program is now open and closes at 5 pm on Friday 17 September 2010.
Let's thank our volunteers
This year's celebrations are dedicated to our volunteers, giving us the opportunity to say thanks to the special Tasmanians who make our State unique. In 2009 Celebrate Tasmania Day was marked by more than 40 events held throughout the State. The types of events funded included community picnics, barbeques, open days, events honouring local volunteers, expos, fun runs, family days, fetes and fairs.
Celebrate Tasmania Day Grants Program
The Celebrate Tasmania Day Grants Program aims to support volunteer-based organisations to run local events for Tasmanians around the State to participate in Celebrate Tasmania Day celebrations and to engage with their local community.
All volunteer-based organisations that host a Celebrate Tasmania Day event for their community are eligible to apply for a grant of up to $3,000 through the Celebrate Tasmania Day Grants Program.
Whether it's having a neighbourhood BBQ, or a sports day or welcoming new neighbours - every town and community, every street and every family should have the opportunity to engage in a relaxing day of community connection.
So mark 7 November 2010 on your calendar and start thinking about hosting or planning a Celebrate Tasmania Day event!
